Opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer School of Slavonic Studies

The Summer School of Slavonic Studies is being held at the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia for the thirty-third time this year. This year, the event attracted participants from thirteen countries. Participants can look forward to intensive language courses, excursions, trips and a varied accompanying program.
On Monday, August 4, 2025, the 33rd year of the Summer School of Slavonic Studies, which is organized annually by the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, was officially opened. Students from Belgium, France, Italy, Mongolia, Japan, Austria, Germany, Taiwan, Poland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Ukraine and China will complete tens of hours of intensive Czech language course with experienced lecturers over three weeks. Given that the event is sought out not only by students interested in the Czech language, but also by experts and workers from various fields and those interested in Czech history and culture, in addition to regular classes, they will also be able to try out special linguistic seminars focused on more complex grammar, selected thematic seminars introducing students to Czech realities and culture, and expert lectures by scientists from the Institute of Czech Studies. There is also a rich program including day trips to Český Krumlov and Hluboká nad Vltavou, various city excursions, educational and sports events, and informal social evenings.
