TEFE A+

Internationalising Teaching Practice

The Faculty of Arts, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, coordinates the international project TEFE A+ (Teachers of English for Future Europe: Putting the Internationalisation of Teaching Practice into Action), funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-HED).

The project builds on the successful collaboration within the TEFE Consortium, which includes seven European universities:

  • University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (CZ)
  • Aston University (UK)
  • Comenius University in Bratislava (SK)
  • Eötvös Loránd University (HU)
  • Jagiellonian University in Krakow (PL)
  • Public University of Navarre (ES)
  • University of Passau (DE)

The project supports the development of international teaching placements for pre-service teachers of English and the systematic integration of international experience into the development of their professional teaching competences. It connects students, teacher educators, schools and mentors across Europe and fosters their professional growth and intercultural awareness.

More information is available at: www.tefe.online.

Who can benefit from the project

Student teachers
The project enables students to complete a teaching placement abroad at faculty schools affiliated with TEFE partner universities, where they can develop practical teaching skills under the guidance of experienced mentors. The experience gained in a multicultural classroom environment strengthens their professional confidence, adaptability, and competitiveness.

Schools and teaching mentors
Schools can host international student teachers who bring linguistic and cultural diversity into the classroom. Mentors are supported through training, shared methodology, and integration into a European network focused on supervision and formative assessment.

Universities and teacher education institutions
TEFE A+ provides a framework for the internationalisation of teacher education. It encourages institutional cooperation and offers models of effective school-university partnerships in the context of teaching practice.
