The Institute of History at the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is a fully accredited scientific and pedagogical institute. It provides education in a three-year Bachelor's degree programme "History", whose graduates can continue to study in a two-year consecutive Master's degree programmes of the same name and a Consecutive Master's degree in Teacher Training for Upper Secondary Schools in History. In co-operation with the Faculty of Education, the Institute participates in teaching of the Bachelor's degree programme History with Focus on Education and the Master's degree in Teacher Training for Lower Secondary Schools in History. The Institute of History also offers postgraduate Doctoral degree programmes in Czech History and the conduct of habilitation and full professorship procedures in the field of Czech History. In its scientific work, the Institute of History has been systematically focusing on a comprehensive research into the history of the early modern period society.
